It is situated on the north-east of Lake Como at the foot of the Mount Legnone (2609 mt). Ideal position therefore tourism has always been important for Colico. It has 2 beaches with several sport facilities. Easy to reach from Switzerland too. From the harbour boat services which connect with other part of the lake. It was conquered by the Spanish in 1500 and some of the old fortress, like Forte di Fuentes, are worth a visit. There are several entertaiments and it is an ideal starting poit for excursions around the lake, to Milan and the Valtellina valley.
