Picturesque resort, 22 km north-west from Glasgow, 48 km west from Stirling. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Located on the southwestern edge of Loch Lomond, Balloch is the gateway for the Loch Lomond National Park and the main place from which to take a cruise or hire your own boat to explore the loch. The area offers plenty of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, pedalo boat and bike hire and in the town centre you can choose amongst a variety of pubs, restaurants and take aways. Balloch is famous also for its shopping, thanks to Loch Lomond Shores, a modern shopping complex just off the A82 which also houses the National Park Visitor Centre, the Sealife Aquarium, a children's fun park, the kayak and pedalo hire, shops, cafes and restaurants.
