Well known resort on the western Riviera, Sanremo is a small lively city with its famous Casino – The Ariston theatre – where the popular music festival takes place every February. There is a picturesque tourist harbor and a nice sand and rocky beach. Sanremo is an ideal base for excursions to the surrounding villages on the hills (San Romolo) or to Montecarlo and the Cote d'Azur. Well-known town with 55'000 inhabitants, in the western part of the region, directly by the sea, 20 km west from Imperia, 15 km east from Ventimiglia, 40 km east from Montecarlo.
