Travel Guide Manavgat

Further information on the country Turkey

Climate
City, 65 km east from Antalya, 4 km from Side. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Antalya (AYT) 65 km. The area around Mungvat offers a wide variety of historic places and the green nature (mainly pine forests) inspires visitors again and again. Despite the tourism in the surrounding area, Mungvat has remained a typically Turkish town. Life-vein of the town is the dark green sparkling Manavgat river which divides the town in half and on which the typical Turkish "gulets" (wooden boats) invite you to take an excursion trip. Many visitors to these holiday towns know Manavgat because of it's well-known farmers' markets. These bazaars take place every Monday and Thursday in Manavgat and particularly the vegetable and spices market is worth a visit - you immediately feel here that you are in the Orient. Main draw point is however the Manavgat waterfalls. At a height of up to 5 m, it is not as powerful as, for example, the Dueden waterfall near Antalya, but the amount of water is impressive.
