Small, picturesque city with 8'000 inhabitants, directly by the sea. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Dalaman (DLM) 160 km, Antalya (AYT) 190 km. As the Lykians called this area their own 2000 years ago, it is also known as the "Lykian Coast". Evidence of this are the numerous cliff graves, sarcophagus and other relics of past times. Approx. 10 minutes walk from the real town centre of Kas is an amphitheatre directly by the sea. Kas town centre is made up of many small alleys and winding streets which are so narrow that no cars can drive here. This is what makes the town so charming. Kas is like a giant lounge in the evening; there are bars, retsaurants and cafes everywhere. Friday is market day in Kas. The large fruit and veg market is definitely worth a visit.
