Arce is a small village belonging to the district of Pielagos. Situated 16 km west of Santander, it has a population of approx. 1900 people and many historical monuments declared one of the "Bien de Interes Cultural", such as the 18th century bridge which gives its name to the town or the Torre de Velo, group of 13th century monuments. The Valle de Pielagos countryside is known for its variety and quality. Beaches, cliffs, coastal mountains, small interior mountain ranges make it a very beautiful part of the country.
