850 m. >>Well-known mountain village, summer holiday resort and winter sports resort with 2'000 inhabitants, 17 km south-east from Tvrdošín, 31 km south-east from Námestovo, 40 km north-east from Dolný Kubín. All shops, restaurants etc. in Námestovo. In the resort: shopping centre, grocers, bakers, post office, bank, restaurant, bar, museum. Besides: chemist, doctor. Access: railway station "Podbiel" 13 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Bratislava (BTS), Wien International (VIE), Zilina (ILZ). Town at the entrance to the Rohacska dolina - nature reserve Tatransky narodni park. Ideal for mountain lovers and cyclists but also for winter sport lovers.
