628 - 1'375 m. >>At the foot of Karkonosze mountain Well-known holiday resort with 5'700 inhabitants, convenient, 17 km south from Jelenia Góra, 40 km north-east from Wałbrzych, 35 km east from Szklarska Poręba. In the resort: post office, bank, restaurant, bar, disco, night club, evening entertainment, museum, cinema. Indoor pool, wellness centre, fitness centre, sauna, sun bed, health cures, massage. Besides: chemist. Access: railway station in the resort. Bus service. For arrivals by plane: airport Wrocław (WRO) 100 km. Numerous hotels and boarding houses. The popular tourist area is concentrated in Karpacz and Upper Karpacz, where the most popular hiking trails on Sniezka and the Valley of Little Pond begins. The resort is also a main winter sports centre: chair lift on Kopa, from where 2 ski runs begin, 2 ski-jumps and numerous ski lifts. The varied shape of mountain slopes makes it suitable for all grades of skiers. Frequent bus connections with Jelenia Gora. Numerous historical objects, including the Church Wang - a unique example of sacral architecture of Scandinavia. The church was built in the 12th century in Wang, Norway and in the 15th century it was taken apart and brought to Karpacz where it was reconstructed.
