Climate
Resort directly by the lake, convenient, 72 km north-west from Olsztyn, 33 km from Ostróda. In the resort: shopping centre, shops, post office, bank, restaurant, bar, disco, concerts, museum, cinema, attractions. Access: railway station in the resort. Bus service. For arrivals by plane: airport Gdańsk (GDN), Warszawa (WAW). Jeziorak, the longest lake in Poland, offers its lovely bays and island for aquatic lovers. One of the island called Wielka Zulawa is the Europe largest inland island. The lake is a part of famous inland navigation route - Ostrodzko-Elblaski canal. Other touristic attractions: numerous nature reserves, forest walking and cycling trails, boat trips. Ilawa is specially known for the International Traditional Jazz Festival "Old Jazz meeting - Golden wash-board", which is held there each August. Market of Folk Art (July). Worth visiting are some neighbouring towns f.ex. Malbork and Torun.
