Climate
Small village with 800 inhabitants, in the countryside, 6 km from Doolin, 15 km from Lahinc. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: railway station "Ennis" 40 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Shannon (SNN) 61 km. Great spot to base oneself to explore North Clare, just north of the village the land rises sharply affording panoramic view of the surrounding areas and over the valley of Ballyvaghan. Its famous Victorian Spa Complex and Health Centre is a major attraction and at present the only active spa centre in Ireland. Famous for its music and festivals, in September each year one of Europe's largest matchmaking events is held in the town attracting upward of 40,000 romantic hopefuls, bachelor farmers and accompanying revellers.
