Well-known, historical city in the interior, in a valley, 40 km south-east from Limerick, 86 km north-east from Cork. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: motorway N24 Limerick. For arrivals by plane: airport Shannon (SNN) 65 km. Tipperary celebrates the arts with interesting summer festivals in the city and around the county's picturesque villages and charming towns. It is surroundedby stunning natural landscape, including the beautiful Lough Derg in the north and the deep glen of Aherlow in the south, stretching through 16 miles of unspoiled countryside where the river runs between the Galtee Mountains and the wooded ridge of Slievenamuck. Nearby historical attractions include the Rock of Cashel, Roscrea Castle and Holycross Abbey.
