Climate
The island of Kefalonia (871.5 km2) is the largest of the Ionian Islands, mountainous (Eno 1620 m) and wooded. It is divided in two by the deep bay of Livadi. Cereal, olive tree and wine-grape cultivation. The black pine tree is typical of the island. Worth seeing: Drakeni caves and the Katavothres canal, a natural undergound canal near Argostoli. The town is also known for the massacre of the Acqui division of the Italian army by the Germans in WW II.
