Climate
Basque country is a mountainous region, dominated by several peaks. The coast is lush in vegetation. The coastline is particularly impressive where the cliffs -reach 300 m in height. The ancient fishing villages have been developed to be-come good summer holiday resorts. The beaches are for the most part sandy, but the climate is less mild than on the Mediterranean coast. The Navarra -region, with its capital, Pamplona, is situated east of Basque country, in the -western Pyrenees.
