The entire south bank is lined with small towns with a Mediterranean atmos-phere. The beaches of the south bank slope gently and are perfect for families with small children. From Siofok to Boglar, a long promenade lines the lake -beaches. There are moorings available in most of the resorts. For this reason, the lakes-hores are very popular with sailing enthusiasts. Most of the houses are -situated near the lake and only a short walk through the lovely alleyways lined with flowers to reach the shores. Numerous entertainment and activities await the holidaymaker. Siofok, county town of Balaton, was given the title ”the town of flowers” at an international competition in 1997. This small lively town offers several night-clubs, restaurants, cafes with terraces as well as lovely parks and gardens.
