Climate
To the north east of Moravia is one of the wildest regions in the Czech Republic: Valassko (Valachia) with the Beskides nature park. The Lysa hora and Radhost mountains, which overlook the town of Roznov, offer wonderful trips. Rosnov is a town enjoyed by tourists, especially for its rural life museum. The large town in the region is Ostrava, coal and metal mining centre. Equally close is the town of Koprivnice, which is the birthplace of the national car industry. In fact, the first Austro-Hungarian car built in 1897 came from this factory, a legendary model called “President”. Opava is another important town and this is where the Silesian museum, the oldest town in the Czech Republic, is located.
